About Ms. Dittman and Kindergarten
Welcome!
My name is Joelene Dittman and I am so excited to have your child in my Kindergarten class this year. This website will be used for communication in terms of announcements, resources, pictures and so much more to show you what we have all been busy learning about in Kindergarten. I hope you find this source beneficial in helping your child grow throughout their first year of school. I will do my best to ensure your child reaches their personal (hopes and dreams) and academic goals, experiences growth and is able to reflect upon their journey, has a daily routine to accomplish those big goals, feels safe everyday, and learns real life skills to reinforce positive behavior PBIS (S-safe, R-respectful, R-responsible), and integrate various learning opportunities. A little bit about Ms. Dittman... I am originally from Cottage Grove, MN. I graduated with my Bachelor's of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Minnesota State University Mankato in December 2016. I was fortunate enough to have my very first long term teaching position here at Roosevelt Elementary (Kindergarten) January-June 2017. I am thankful to back at Roosevelt Elementary and to teach another round of Kindergarten! Along with my Elementary Education degree, I also have a minor in Middle School Communications Art/Literature, and a STEM Certificate (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). I am also in the process of completing my Master's Degree in Reading through MSU. Through my Master's program, I will be able to learn more about how to plan, implement, assess effective classroom and reading programs, develop a more concrete understanding of RTI (Response to Intervention), dig deep into diverse literacy for cultural learning experiences, focus on content area reading instruction, and promote leadership in reading. Aside from school, I enjoy adventuring to State Parks with my fiance' and our Golden Retriever named Guinness. Thank you for your support at home, and I am looking forward to learning more about your child and his/her family. Sincerely, Joelene Dittman |
